This is the original map of Atlantis from
Atanasius Kircher's atlas titled "Terra Mundas Subterraneous" printed
in 1665. It comes complete with a total of ten pages of fascinating facts
and information not currently appearing in the modern printed editions of
Plato's works. This is an outstanding copy of the map and there are no tears,
repairs or water discolorations of any sort. The map is oriented with North
towards the bottom. A true museum piece for anyone who collects Atlantis memorabilia,
Kircher's work, or maps of any sort. The package will also contain an excerpt
which details the destruction and destiny of the Lost Continent translated from
Latin. Should anyone desire to obtain the rest of the English translation,
the price would be adjusted accordingly. This famous map (of which there
are about 12 extant in the Western Hemisphere) is featured in countless books,
however, none of those publications ever indicate what the map's text
explains. With this map and its associated information, one could author
their own book about Atlantis that put all other works on the same topic to
utter shame. Each full page measures 29.5 cm x 23 cm. The map of Atlantis
itself measures 16 cm. x 10.5 cm. A masterpiece.
