There seems to be a debate building in some quarters of the anti-censorship
ad hoc community of how to help me, Ernst Zündel, "Holocaust"
skeptic and Revisionist, defeat the iron fist of German censorship in America
without "contaminating" others with the ideas of the Zundelsite
which many people consider harmful.
The dilemma faced by Freedom Lovers is one that has vexed the finest minds
since time immemorial. Does freedom mean license to do _anything_?
Luckily, in the case at hand, the problem is straightforward:
1 I created the Zundelsite with the help of friends and associates who
felt it was time to respond to the fanciful tales and outright lies told
about World War II Germans in entertainment, media, and education from
kindergarten all the way through the fancies of doctoral footwork.
2. All of us involved in the Zundelsite work were either computer illiterates
or, at best, techno-peasants. Luckily, we also had some pretty fast learners
and part-time computer nerds in our circle of friends who promised to help
out.
Few of us, however, had ever heard of "mirroring."
3. We took months to prep and groom the Zundelsite for what we were hoping
would be a world-wide forum for civilized discourse and debate. We visualized
it as an intellectual platform, where people could expose some of their
ideas, specifically papers about the so-called "Holocaust," for
other people to evaluate on their merits.
4. The Holocaust Promotion Lobby panicked when they saw that the Zündel
Truth Squad was out there, getting poised to shed light, not heat, and
truth, not lies, on their favorite money-raising cash cow.
5. Enter the Censorship Squad dispatched all over the globe by the Simon
Wiesenthal Center of Intolerance to as far-away places as Japan and Italy,
to stop the spread of the concept that scholars, writers, scientists and
intelligence analysts should look at Zionism's favorite "sword and
shield," the so-called "Holocaust," with which it has slain
and bludgeoned all opposition for more than half a century - a weapon,
incidentally, which shields them from most public criticism, even when
they bomb their neighbors and mistreat their Palestinian citizens etc.
One day after we started heaving our documents in place, we found ourselves
besieged with junk mail, mysterious "holds" on e-mail, loss of
e-mail, vicious vilification, etc. Of course history shows that attacks
on ideas had happened before - but never before in history had so many
people been made aware that they could come to the defense of a man and
an idea - a man and an idea considered not even acceptable by most people
who were born and raised within the dogma of the Holocaust - by global
reach and literal, not only symbolic defense. For us, who had been vilified
so long, it was magnificent! Some people who are into metaphysics as a
hobby will even go so far as to assert that when good folks all over America
were offering "computer refuge" to Zündel and his Zundelsite
- maligned outcasts until then - they felt a cosmic shift. :-)
6. The Holocaust Promotion Lobby knows that the "Holocaust" cannot
stand the light of public scrutiny by good and honest minds - thus their
panic reaction and hysteria. Experience has shown that only those with
something to hide have to fear scrutiny and subsequent exposure. Only those
who cannot win a debate will walk away from it.
7. So there really ought not to be a dilemma at all for those who say they
believe in Freedom of Speech: Mirror the Zundelsite unedited as long as
it is necessary, and thus become part of the solution, or do not mirror
it and obstruct others who do, and thus become part of the problem.
I am on record wondering why people are so determined not to let me embarrass
myself all over the Internet if my ideas are so wrong. It is all very simple:
if I am what my enemies have defined me to be, then I will self-destruct.
If they are what _I_ think they are, then they will self-destruct.
